The Global Torture Index is a unique, data-driven tool designed to annually assess the risk of torture and other ill-treatment worldwide. It evaluates national laws, policies, and practices in line with international human rights standards, combining quantitative data with qualitative insights from civil society. The interactive map presents each country's score, based on seven thematic pillars, and highlights systemic issues and progress to support advocacy strategies and accountability.
