The African Centre for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (ACTV) is an NGO founded in 1993 which mission is to advocate against torture, gender-based violence and other forms of violence, and to provide holistic care and rehabilitation services to survivors and victims of torture. ACTV is currently the Chair of the Coalition Against Torture in Uganda. In addition, ACTV plays an important role in training the police, the military and prison staff, as well as legal and medical officers on the Istanbul Protocol Guidelines.
