OMCT E-Bulletin - 77th session of the Committee against Torture
The 77th CAT session took place from 10 July to 28 July 2023 during which the Committee reviewed the reports submitted under Article 19 of the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment by Switzerland, New Zealand, Romania, and Spain.
The OMCT mobilizes and coordinates civil society access to the United Nations Committee against Torture (CAT). During this session, representatives of 30 civil society organisations engaged with the CAT members during the NGO private briefings, which take place before the consideration of the States reports. At the end of each session, the CAT publishesd its Concluding Observations for each reviewed State party report

78th session of the CAT (30 October to 24 November 2023)
- Countries on the agenda for review at the 78th session are Costa Rica, Slovenia, Denmark, Egypt and Burundi
- The deadline for CSO submissions for the State report reviews at the 78th session is 2 October 2023.
