Areas of Work
The Association of Ukrainian Human Rights Monitors on Law Enforcement (Association UMDPL) is a Ukrainian non-governmental organisation, established in 2010 to work on human rights and the law enforcement system.
The Association UMDPL develops and enforces strategies for visiting closed institutions to ensure that human rights violations are not occurring. This takes place as part of Ukraine’s National Preventive Mechanism (model ‘Ombudsman+’), for which Association UMDPL develops methodologies and coordinates with Ukraine’s Ombudsperson's office. Association UMDPL has a network of regional representatives all over Ukraine, and it has participated in the development of numerous reforms of legislation and policy in the country.
