The OMCT celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2010. It was also the year when it launched a campaign calling for wide support for a Manifesto signed by 10 Nobel Prize laureates to alert public opinion to the existence of practices that negate human dignity.
Other highlights in this Annual Report include 31 field missions in the framework of the Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders, a joint OMCT-FIDH programme. In February, a solidarity mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo took place to support Congolese women victims of rape and the human rights defenders working with them. The resulting short film and a photographic exhibition were shown in Geneva and Bern.
