OMCT E-Bulletin - 76th session of the Committee against Torture
The 76th CAT session took place from 17 April to 12 May 2023, during which the Committee reviewed the reports submitted under Article 19 of the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment by Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, and Slovakia. The Committee also adopted the List of Issues (LOI) for the upcoming reviews in November 2023 for Burundi and Egypt, and the List Of Issues Prior to Reporting (LOIPR) for Portugal.

During this session, representatives of 49 civil society organisations engaged with the CAT members during NGO private briefings, which take place before the consideration of the States reports. At the end of each session, the CAT published its Concluding Observations for each reviewed State party report.
